At the just concluded Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Annual General Conference, the Former Chairman of Lagos Branch, Lateef Omoyemi Akangbe, SAN called on the Association to embrace technology as a catalyst for transformation and improved service delivery to its members. He noted that the NBA must go beyond promises and adopt innovative, practical solutions that will make legal practice smarter, faster, and more efficient for lawyers across the country.
Read His Full Statement Below;
The NBA should not just anticipate the future—we should create it today. I believe technology is the key to transforming how we practice law and how our Association serves its members.
The NBA should invest in innovation that empowers every lawyer—providing platforms, tools, and access that make practice smarter, faster, and more efficient. We should shift from promises to practical solutions, which should lead to transformation we all desire. For me, technology is not optional—it is essential.
A progressive NBA must lead innovation so that the future of law becomes an experience of today, not a promise of tomorrow.
