MUSLIM LAWYERS ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA (MULAN) FCT-ABUJA CHAPTER PAYS COURTESY CALL TO THE DIRECTOR, LEGAL SERVICES, CENTRAL BANK OF NIGERIA

The Muslim Lawyers Association of Nigeria (MULAN), FCT-Abuja Chapter, under the leadership of its Chairman, Al-Bashir L. Likko, paid a courtesy call to the Director, Legal Services of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), today at the Bank’s headquarters in Abuja.

The delegation, which comprised members of the Executive Committee and other financial members of MULAN FCT-Abuja, was warmly received by the Director of Legal Services, Mr. Kofo Salam-Alada, Esq., and his team. The visit served as an opportunity to introduce the newly inaugurated leadership of MULAN FCT-Abuja and to explore potential areas of collaboration between the two institutions.

During the meeting, the Chairman, Al-Bashir L. Likko, highlighted MULAN’s commitment to promoting professionalism, justice, and community development. He emphasized the importance of working with the Central Bank of Nigeria to achieve mutual objectives, particularly in areas such as:

 1. Capacity Building and Training: Organizing workshops and seminars to address legal issues in the financial sector, with a focus on compliance, fintech regulation, and Islamic finance.

 2. Mentorship Opportunities: Providing young lawyers with access to the wealth of knowledge and experience within the Legal Services Department of the CBN.

 3. Community Outreach Initiatives: Collaborating to promote financial literacy and awareness of legal compliance within the financial system.

The Director of Legal Services, in his response, commended MULAN for its efforts in upholding the principles of justice and legal excellence. He expressed the readiness of his office to partner with MULAN in areas that align with the Bank’s objectives and extended his support to foster a mutually beneficial relationship.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both parties agreeing to continue discussions on implementing the proposed areas of collaboration.

The MULAN delegation expressed their profound appreciation for the warm reception and the productive engagement with the Director and his team.
