The Secretary of the Committee, Isah Abubakar Aliyu, reiterated the Committees commitment towards ensuring that issues of harassment of Lawyers by Security Agencies is addressed headlong.
Mr. Aliyu informed our blog that the Committee has since its inauguration, intervened in a number of cases of such harrassment and will continue to do so until Lawyers are allowed to carry out their duties freely and without reserve.
He added that the Committee will be meeting with the Inspector General of Police and other heads of security in the coming weeks to discuss issues of mutual interest between the Bar and the Security Agencies with a view to addressing the frequent harassment of Lawyers in the course of carrying out their duties.
