IF DUE PROCESS WAS NOT FOLLOWED, ALL THE OFFICERS WILL BE DETHRONED; JUDGE warns for the second Time.

The Presiding Judge sitting at the FCT High Court in Caroline Ladidi Anze-Bishop v Incorporated Trustees of NBA has at today’s hearing warned that if he finds that the NBA Election which held in July 2024 was conducted in a manner that didn’t reflect the spirit of the Constitution, all the officers elected on that platform will be dethroned vide a nullification of the Election.

The immediate past National Treasurer of the Nigerian Bar Association has approached the Court, asking for the nullification of her purported disqualification by the ECNBA which leaned on S.9(3)(b) of the NBA Constitution and which was hurriedly upheld by the Appeal Committee. The Suit was filed by the Claimant’s Lawyers: Uche Amulu Esq, C.J Nnamdi Esq, Dickson Nwatu Esq & Seyi Omimakinde . Amongst her numerous prayers She is asking the Court to reverse the decision of the ECNBA, nullify the discriminatory provision of the NBA Constitution & direct the relisting of her name on the ballot having fulfilled & complied with all the constitutional and electoral requirements for the office of the NBA General Secretary for 2024 interalia.

Recall that the former National Treasurer is biasly adjuged a wrongdoer in some quarters following her fiery advocacy for “an all inclusive Bar  which is the equal Commonwealth of all Nigerian lawyers from all walks of life. She has asked the Court to annul and expunge the provisions of Section 9 (3) (b) of the NBA Constitution by reason of contravention of Section 4(b) of the same Constitution as well as section 42 of the CFRN 1999 as ammended, interalia.
