The Nigerian Bar Association, NBA Bwari Branch (Cradle Bar) has released the full programme of event for the 2024 Law Week scheduled to take place from Friday, 17th May 2024 to Wednesday, 22nd May 2024.
This years’ law week theme is “Strengthening The Foundation Of Justice”.
The Keynote Speaker is Prof. Yemi Akinseye George, SAN, FNIALS while the Special Guest of Honour is His Excellency, the Honourable Minister of FCT, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, CON.
Also His Excellency, the former Governor of Bauchi State, M. A. Abubakar, SAN is the Special Guest of Honour for the Law Week Dinner.
The distinguished notable speakers are Prof. Ernest Ojukwu, SAN, Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, Chukwuka Ikwuazom, SAN, Tobenna Erojikwe, Joyce Oduah and the Commissioner of Police, FCT, Bennett C. Igweh.
Below is a breakdown of the full activities of this year law week.
Day 1 – Friday, 17th May 2024
Press Conference by 10:00am
Venue: Gadis Event Centre, Bwari Road, Opposite Government Girls Secondary School, Dutse, Abuja.
The Law Week kicks off with a “Jumat Prayers” by 1:30pm.
Venue: Islamic Da’wah Central Mosque, 2/2 Behind Total Fuel Station, Kubwa, FCT, Abuja.
Day 2 – Saturday, 18th May 2024
Sports Fiesta by 3:00pm
Venue: Public Service Institute of Nigeria (PSIN) Dutse Alhaji Express Road, Abuja.
Day 3 – Sunday, 19th May 2024
Cradle Bar Thanksgiving Service by 10:00am
Venue: The Gospel Faith Mission Int’l (Arena of Grace), Plot 6, Besnal Plaza, Hamza Abdullahi Road, off Gadi Nasko Road, Kubwa, Abuja.
Day 4 – Monday, 20th May 2024
Opening Ceremony by 9:00am.
The event begins from 9am to 12pm.
Then the first plenary session, “General Elections: Challenges and Lessons Learnt,” will take place from 12pm.
The second plenary session follows immediately after the first session by 2pm with distinguished panelists set to do justice to the topic “Appointment of Judges And Issues Impacting Speedy Dispensation of Justice”.
Venue: Gadis Event Centre, Bwari Road, Opposite Government Girls Secondary School, Dutse, Abuja.
Day 5 – Tuesday, 21st May 2024
The third plenary session starts by 10:00am with the topic “Doing Business In Nigeria – Economic Survival And Justice Delivery (Where Is The Meeting Point)”.
The fourth plenary session follows immediately by 2:10pm with the topic “The Nigerian Lawyers, Scale of Charges, Use of Technology And Lawyers Welfare”.

Day 6 – Wednesday, 22nd May 2024
Last Panel Session starts by 2:00pm with the topic “Factors Militating Against Security In Nigeria”.

Law Week Dinner by 3:00pm
