ASUU has issued President Bola Ahmed Tinubu a two-week ultimatum to reinstate the dissolved governing councils of Nigerian universities.
Since President Tinubu dissolved the councils last June, the universities have operated without governing councils.
The dissolution affected all public institutions, including polytechnics and colleges of education.
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on Tuesday, May 14, threatened a nationwide strike. As reported by The Punch, the union criticised the failure of the federal government of Nigeria to appoint governing councils for federal universities.
