31st March, 2024
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled.
1 Peter 1:3-4 KJV
Dear Colleagues,
As we gather to celebrate Easter, I extend my warmest greetings and best wishes to everyone across our great nation. This special season reminds us of the power of hope, renewal, and faith in the face of challenges.
Easter symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness and signifies the unconditional love that binds us together as a people. Let us use this occasion to reflect on our shared values and aspirations for a better Nigeria.
May it inspire us to foster unity, tolerance, and understanding among all ethnicities, religions, and cultures.
In these trying times, let us remember those less fortunate and extend a helping hand to those in need. By doing so, we not only exemplify the teachings of Easter but also reinforce the principles of justice, compassion, and empathy that define our legal profession.
I implore all members of the Nigerian Bar Association to stay committed to our noble cause of upholding the rule of law and ensuring justice for all. Let us shun all forms of discrimination, corruption, and injustice as we strive to build a society where every Nigerian can live with dignity and enjoy equal rights and opportunities.
Finally, I urge you all to embrace the spirit of Easter—a spirit of selflessness, forgiveness, and hope. By holding onto these values and working together, we can create a Nigeria that thrives on the principles of fairness, equity, and the pursuit of collective prosperity.
On behalf of the Nigerian Bar Association, I wish you a joyous Easter filled with blessings, peace, and love. May this season mark the beginning of renewed hope and inspire us all to strive for a brighter future.
Yours sincerely,
Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau
President, Nigerian Bar Association
